Anachronist Wellness Is Another Exciting Addition to Paradise Island
The latest addition to the Paradise Landing community surrounding Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina will open this fall, bringing a unique mix of sports therapies, rehab treatments and wellness services to Paradise Landing.
A new wellness center plans to open its doors in Sterling Commons in November, joining the bustling Paradise Landing development in the heart of The Bahamas.
Once open, Anachronist Wellness will join a growing slate of select vendors offering upscale services that benefit the Paradise Landing community as well as guests of Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina and all Island residents.
As a wellness facility, Anachronist Wellness caters to improving the overall health of those impacted by soft tissue injury and chronic and debilitating pain. Within The Bahamas and Caribbean, Anachronist Therapy will be the first institution to offer Active Release Techniques and soft tissue injury therapy, raising the bar for medical tourism services in the region.
Locals got a sneak peek of Anachronist Wellness’s work in early April during the CARIFTA Games in Nassau, when co-founder, therapist Edwardo Thompson, NMT, ART, hosted a free hamstring injury prevention clinic for coaches and athletes. During the clinics, the therapist of 23 years who specializes in sports performance, soft tissue injuries, rehabilitative therapy, and injury prevention discussed how to prevent hamstring injuries and recover if this injury happens.
But the work of Thompson and Anachronist’s co-founder, licensed clinical aesthetician, Lakera Thompson, RPT, goes beyond sports injuries and performance improvements. Once open, the facility will also offer treatments focusing on various injuries and conditions, lifestyle and work activities, injury care, women’s and men’s health issues, pain care, movement disorders, wellness, IV nutritional hydration therapy, and anti-aging skincare.
The company’s mission is to enhance the lives of all individuals efficiently and ethically through innovative, safe, and non-invasive wellness treatments.
The wellness center is just one more reason why the Paradise Landing residential and commercial community that surrounds Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina is becoming the new downtown for Paradise Island, just minutes away from the famed Atlantis Resort & Casino.
In addition to premium residences and the best deep-water marina for yachts in The Bahamas, this community already includes the 1,400-square-foot Quality Care Pharmacy, a 6,500-square-foot flagship store from 700 Wines and Spirits, an exclusive Captain’s Lounge and Crew Gym for yacht captains and crew members, and a poolside bar and grill, Asian Grill.
Much more is coming soon, including Carnivale Bahamas, a hot new restaurant on the water opening in 2024. Other forthcoming amenities include Paradise Island’s first gourmet grocery store and a medical center.
Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina and Paradise Landing are among the many projects by Sterling Global Financial Limited, a global alternative asset manager focused on real estate.
The wait is almost over, and Sterling Global is excited to welcome Anachronist Wellness to its slice of paradise on Paradise Island! Anachronist Wellness is a specialty health and rehabilitation facility located in Sterling Commons at Paradise Landing, adjacent to Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina. The center offers Active Release Techniques, soft tissue injury therapy, sports rehabilitation, and a range of wellness treatments including IV nutritional hydration therapy, anti-aging skincare, and programs targeting lifestyle and occupational conditions, women's and men's health, pain care, and movement disorders. Within The Bahamas and the broader Caribbean, Anachronist is the first institution to offer Active Release Techniques, a clinically recognized method for treating muscle and connective tissue injuries.
Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented soft tissue therapy method that diagnoses and treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. Practitioners use a combination of movement and precisely directed tension to break up scar tissue, adhesions, and other soft tissue abnormalities that restrict range of motion and cause pain. Anachronist Wellness at Paradise Landing is the first provider of ART in The Bahamas and the Caribbean, making it a genuinely novel medical tourism offering for the region. For yacht crew who face repetitive strain and physical demands at sea, this level of targeted soft tissue care is particularly relevant.
Paradise Landing at Hurricane Hole Superyacht Marina has developed a health cluster specifically suited to the needs of yacht crew and island residents. Anachronist Wellness offers sports therapy, rehabilitation, and specialized wellness treatments. Quality Care Pharmacy provides prescriptions, vitamins, and over-the-counter health products with delivery available. Paradise Landing was designed with a deliberate focus on crew welfare alongside owner and guest amenities. The Captain's Lounge provides a dedicated space for senior crew to work, relax, and network. The Crew Gym offers a full fitness facility for crew members to maintain physical conditioning during layovers. Anachronist Wellness provides rehabilitation and injury care relevant to the physical demands of seamanship. Quality Care Pharmacy and the Hurricane Hole Medical Center address pharmaceutical and medical needs on-site. Sawyer's Fresh Market enables provisioning and fresh food access. Together, these resources make Hurricane Hole one of the most crew-supportive marinas in the Caribbean.
IV nutritional hydration therapy delivers fluids, vitamins, and minerals directly into the bloodstream via intravenous infusion, bypassing the digestive system and allowing for faster and more complete absorption than oral supplementation. It is used for recovery from physical exertion, jet lag, dehydration, illness, and as a general wellness protocol. Anachronist Wellness at Paradise Landing offers IV hydration as part of its wellness treatment menu, making it accessible to marina guests and island residents. The service is particularly relevant for yacht crew returning from extended passages, who may benefit from rapid rehydration and nutritional support.
